Ceramics in the heart of Holmenkollen invites children to explore the magical world of clay after school. Here, children get to try their hand at the turntable, shape clay with their hands and create their own small works of art — all in a safe and inspiring environment.
The studio is only 7 minutes walk from Svennstuen School/ Kindergarten and Midtstuen School.
The age of participants starts from 5 years old upwards (førskole).
Voksen med barn som er 3–4 år gamle, med mulighet for en assisterende deltakende forelder. Tilbudet er for voksne med barn som er 3–4 år gamle. Det er også mulig å ha med en assisterende, deltakende forelder ved behov.
We speak Norwegian, English and Polish, and welcome all children — regardless of experience or language background.
Clay and all necessary equipment are included (turning machine) in the activity. Burning works is not included — tickets for burning can be purchased separately and cost 65 kr per burning/ person.
We offer snacks, drinks and music, and attach great importance to a warm and inclusive atmosphere. All ages are welcome and we also offer activities for whole families upon request.
Children should be delivered directly to the address Dagaliveien 27B 0783, but when a permanent group is established, we can also organise pick-up at Svenstua school after AKS 16:30. In the period before the permanent group is in place, we start at 16:45.

Maria Joanna Juchnowska is an Oslo-based ceramicist and art educator with over 20 years of experience as a performing artist and workshop leader. She has taught at several schools in the Holmenkollen area, including Midtstuen Middle School, Norlights International School, Vollen Montessori School and Adult Education Center Sandvika, as well as leading creative workshops through NPoK and Oslo Open. From autumn she also works as an AKS-assistant at Slemdal School.
Maria is an active practicing artist both in Norway and internationally, and has exhibited globally in Europe, Asia and the United States. Her workshops are known for a quiet yet energetic and practically oriented atmosphere, adapted to participants of all ages. She is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) and the Norwegian Kunsthåndverkere (NK).
